Paul D. Baxter was born at Ipswich in 1955, son of Arthur James Baxter (7 April 1927-2003) and his wife Patricia J. née Thompson, who married at Ipswich in 1954. Paul married at Ipswich in 1982, Mary Baxter, née Lang, and are the parents of Kathryn Louise Baxter (born 1988), a glass artist. Paul had no formal art training and although he spent some time as a student at the Ipswich School of Art, he is mostly self-taught. A landscape painter, originally mainly oil and watercolour but is always striving to experiment with colour and technique and is experimenting with alcohol inks, including a variety of Star paintings which has enabled him to produce very colourful works, of serene scenes. Now a full-time artist living in Trafalgar Close, Ipswich. A regular exhibitor including at 'Art on the Prom', Felixstowe; Orwell Art Club; The Lions Club at Sproughton and at Needham Market and Ipswich; St Mary's church, Hadleigh; Needham Market Community Centre and elsewhere.
