Bronwen Edwards

Born at Colchester, Essex in 1972, daughter of Bryan H. Edwards and his wife Sheila N. née Smallwood, who married at Wood Green, Essex in 1958. Bronwen studied intially in East Anglia, moving onto the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, graduating in fine art printmaking in 1999. She married in Cardiff in 2004, Timothy James Papworth but continues to work under Bronwen Edwards. A printmaker formerly of Wymondham, Norfolk but now living at Fredericks Road, Beccles, Suffolk being inspired by architecture, flow, rhythm and form using screen-prints to depict historic landmarks of the county. These images have taken the form of contemporary, quirky works that explore rhythm and humour. Her more conservative subject matter includes 'cat' prints using a traditional style of linocut as well as developing into more unusual methods of printing onto fabric and exploring padding and stitching. This has been researched by the use of collagraphs, monoprints and etchings, then printed onto an array of surfaces in order to establish the many complex issues this subject entails. She has exhibited at Fakenham Print Festival; Harleston Gallery, Suffolk; Assembly House, Wymondham and Creative Arts East Tour and, as well as exhibiting her own prints, she is interested in developing small printmaking workshops. A member of Suffolk Open Studios with a studio over 'Sweet Memories' at 15a New Market, Beccles.
