JARVIS, Stuart Neil

1977 - ?

Born at Birmingham in 1977, son of Neil Jarvis and his wife Christine A. née Jukes, who married at Meriden, Warwickshire in 1972. Stuart studied at Nottingham Trent University 1995-1998 gaining at BA, Fine Art. Art teacher at the Northgate School in Ipswich 2003-2006 and St Benedict's Roman Catholic Upper School, Bury St Edmund's from 2006. An artist and a teacher he is fascinated with the dead, the dying and the abject but although, to visually represent direct suffering of others seems too literal, too real, however he is interested in the intolerable image and how we have arrived in an era of unavoidable image proliferation and consumption. A member of the March Hare Collective and worked from 27 Horsecroft Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. In 2014 he took a position as Head of art and design technology at King's High School, St Benedict's Catholic School in Warwick.
