Breige Convery was born in Northern Ireland about 1957 and where she lived until 1984 when she moved to England to train as a midwife. She married at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1990, Christopher J. Covery, and works under the name of Breige Convery and they live at 3 Ashfield Road, Bury St Edmunds. Breige studied at New University of Ulster gaining a BSc (Hons), Nursing Studies; South Bank Polytechnic. PG Diploma (Distinction), Health Education; Norwich School of Art and Design, BA (Hons), Visual Studies and at Coventry University, PG Certificate, Conflict Resolution Studies. She worked for East Suffolk Community Mental Health Services (NHS) Trust 1992-1994; Suffolk Carers 1994-1997; Health Promotion Officer with Suffolk Health 1997-2004. A practising artist 2003-2008 with her artistís portfolio includes artist-in-residence to Taxi Gallery, a community based art project in Cambridge; design and management of a lottery funded community sound installation created with local residents; productions for community radio and voluntary roles at Smiths Row, the Bury St Edmund's Art Gallery. She is currently Policy Officer at Mid-Suffolk District Council, based at Needham Market. In her work as an artist, she has been involved in extensive and wide ranging research and the development of ideas leading to the production and exhibition of artworks in a range of media for both public spaces and private collections. She has exhibited at Suffolk Showcase at Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery, Market Crossand at Church Walks, Bury St Edmunds.
