Peter Williams

Peter Williams was born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire in 1952 and grew up in rural Hertfordshire, when he began to draw and paint. Peter had a varied working life which included the regular British Army, college tutor, computer analyst and lorry driver. During these times he also found time to create art in his spare time and is mostly self-taught in drawing and painting. In 2002, he took the life changing step of becoming a full-time professional artist, being commissioned as feature artist for 'Hertfordshire Life' magazine. In 2005 he moved to the East coast of Suffolk and, with a strong on-line presence and multiple solo exhibitions each year, has developed a large following of collectors and enthusiasts from all continents. Short listed for the David Shepherd, 'Wildlife Artist of the Year', award 2010 and 2011 his paintings have also been published in Dorling Kindersley's watercolour workshop books and featured in many other UK publications. Peter is also the author of a novel 'Fate's Last Turn' and of his biography 'Blood Sweat and Beer'. Peter now concentrates more on wildlife and figurative work, producing stunning and highly detailed, photo-realistic graphite, charcoal, watercolour, pastel, or mixed media images, working out of his studio on the Suffolk coast at 8 The Gables, Leiston where he lives with his long-term partner Jenny. Mighty Fine Art by Peter Williams is closing, and there will be no new work created.
