WHITAKER, Elsie
As Elsie Irene Hetterley, she was born at Seagrave Road, Sielby, Barrow-upon-Soar, Leicestershire on 30 August 1910, daughter of Robert Hetterley (1870-2 May 1926), hosiery order man, and his wife Hephzibah Clara née Martin (6 July 1874-21 January 1965), who married at Barrow-upon-Soar in 1897. In 1939 Hephzibah was a widow, living at 66 Seagrave Road, Barrow-upon-Soar with an unmarried daughter Lilian May Hettersley (12 May 1907-1999). Elsie married at Barrow-upon-Soar in 1937, Noel Henry Whitaker (31 December 1912-1990) and in 1939 she was living at 23 Greystone Avenue, Leicester with her husband Noel, a lithographic artist & designer. A member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists 1977-1990. Elsie Irene Whitaker died at Bungay, Suffolk on 7 June 2001.
