KING, Joseph

1763 - 1838

Born at Ipswich on 20 July and baptised at Tacket Street, Congregational Church, Ipswich on 26 August 1763, son of Benjamin King and his wife Sarah née Hitchcock. A member and chairman of the Ipswich Society of Professional & Amateur Artists from 1832, where he was probably tutored by Henry Davy [q.v.]. He was buried at Tacket Street on 9 June 1838, aged 75.
