Carol Pask

As Carol Susan Chapman, she was born at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1955, daughter of Cyril Frederick Chapman (1927-17 February 2016) and his wife Janet Ann née Denny (born 1927), who married at Bury St Edmund's in 1950. Carol married at Bury St Edmund's in 1985, Peter D. Pask, and paints under the name of Carol Pask. Carol studied Art and Design at Suffolk College Ipswich, Fine Art Practice at University Campus Suffolk at Ipswich and Fine Art at Norwich University College of the Arts, graduating B.A. (hons) in Fine Art, specialising in Sculpture. A Lecturer/Art Technician at West Suffolk College and as a Suffolk born sculptor her life has been immersed in the rhythms of country life from where she derives much of her artistic inspiration. Carol works in stoneware and porcelain, combining traditional methods to create contemporary sculptural pieces, which are often fused with metal, wood, or slate. Her work is hand-built, with colour being derived from natural sources which is achieved using oxides and traditional firing methods such as raku and smoke firing. A Member of Artworks she exhibits regularly from Place Farm, Bardwell, Bury St Edmund's, at Bils and Rye, Nunnington, North Yorkshire; Sculpt Gallery, Tiptree, Essex and has also exhibited at SOS Collective, Edmund Gallery, Angel Hill, Bury St Edmund's; Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, Suffolk; Norfolk Broads Art Group, Village Hall, Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk; Spirit, The Court Gallery, Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Suffolk; Pond Gallery at Snape Maltings, Suffolk and Aldeburgh Gallery, Aldeburgh, Suffolk and elsewhere.
