BARRELL, Thomas
Thomas Barrell, was born at Drinkstone, Suffolk on 22 May 1797, son of Robert Barrell, a butcher, and his wife Mary née Bissor. In 1841, a c.40-year-old butcher living at Drinkstone with his c.60-year-old widowed father Robert and in 1851, a 54-year-old artist living at The Green, Drinkstone, the home of William Mortlock, shopkeeper, and his family. He seems to have fallen on tough times as in 1861, a pauper, artist & butcher at the same address but in 1871, an inmate of the Stow Union House, Onehouse, Stowmarket, Suffolk where he died later that year.
