Peta Hillier

Born at St Pancras, London in 1955, daughter of Alan B. Hillier and his wife Betty M. née Hurley, who married at Uxbridge, London in 1938. She married at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk in 1993, Duncan R. Skeels, but paints under her maiden name of Peta-Jane Hillier. Her landscape paintings are inspired by the Suffolk countryside and in particular the woodlands and coastal footpaths. Behind her work is her environmental concern about the countryside and Peta, who instigated a wonderful art project utilising the Heritage Woods, which included pupils from Shotley Primary School who created their own works, received a Shotley Village Community Award in 2015. Peta exhibited at Prettys Art Collection in Ipswich in 2015 when she was living at East Bergholt, Suffolk with her family.
