JACKSON, Henry

1846 - 1900

Born at Elmswell, Suffolk in 1846, third son of Isaac Jackson, milk seller, and his wife Mary née Fletcher, who married at Stow, Suffolk in 1839. In 1851, a 4 year old living at 3 Priory Street, Ipswich with his parents, 52 year old Isaac, born Dennington, Suffolk and 45 year old mother Mary, born Burrough Green, Cambridgeshire and his two older siblings. He married at Ipswich in 1868, Emma Wood and in 1871 a 25 year old stone mason living at Norwich Road, Ipswich with his 26 year old wife Emma and their 2 year old son Charles. In 1881 a 34 year old sculptor living at 23 Rendlesham Road, Ipswich with his 35 year old wife Emma, who was deaf, and born at Clopton, Suffolk and their four children, Charles 11, Flora 9, Ellen 6 and newly born Frederick all born at Ipswich. In 1885 he exhibited a pair of sculptures at Ipswich Fine Art Club when of 54 Rendlesham Road, Ipswich ‘A Consenting Couple’ (525/533). In 1891 a ‘monument sculptor’ at 145 Cemetery Road, Ipswich. He died at Ipswich in 1900, aged 54.
