GREIG, Elizabeth Emma

Born at Seaford Road, Tottenham, London on 6 April 1889, daughter of Edwin Henry Greig, a tobacco dealer, and his wife Alice, née Blake, who married at St Clement Danes, Westminster on 25 June 1882. In 1901 an 11 year old living at 61 Southgate Road, Islington, London with her parents, 42 year old Edwin and 41 year old Alice, with siblings Alice 17, Jessie 16, Edwin George 14, Henry 10 and Florence 2. By 1911 they had moved to 9 De Beauvoir Road, Kingsland, Hackney where Elizabeth was a 21 year old bank cheque examiner. She exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club in 1916 three paintings ''Arundel Bridge', 'Pieve di Livinallongo' and 'Freston Wood in Bluebell Time'. She married at Hackney, London in 1919, Henry J. White and in 1939 living at 6 Berne Road, Croydon, Surry with her husband Henry (born 2 April 1879), a provision merchant's clerk and their unmarried daughter Joan A. S. (born 9 September 1921).
