MORGAN , Ethel Mahala

1875 - 1926

Born at 23 Clareville Grove, Kensington, London in 1875, youngest child of artist Alfred Edward Morgan [q.v.] and his wife Jessey née Roe (1833-1908), who married at Ipswich in 1867, the sister of artists Alfred Kedington Morgan (1868-1928) and Owen Baxter Morgan (1873-1926). In 1911, a 35 year old art teacher living at 30 Palewell Park, Mortlake, Surrey with her 75 year old widowed father Alfred and siblings Jessie 40 and Owen Baxter 37, both unmarried. Miniature artist and an art teacher an associate of the Royal Miniature Society and the Society of Women Artists. She exhibited at Liverpool Walker Art Gallery, Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour from London and Paris and at Ipswich Fine Art Club in 1923 two portraits 'Dr David, the Rt. Rev. the Lord Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich' and 'Portrait of a Little Girl'. She died at Richmond, Surrey in 1926, aged 51, she was unmarried.
