HAMLETT, Adele Frances Evelyne

1892 - 1990

As Adele Frances Evelyne Pearson, she was born at Ombersley, Droitwich, Worcestershire on 15 June 1892, daughter of Thomas Henry Gibson Pearson (1854-1942), 'living on own means' and his second wife Amy Mary Contance née Biggs, who married at Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire on 20 December 1884. In 1901, an 8 year old, living at 31 Shakespeare Road, Bedford with her parents, 47 year old Thomas and 45 year old Amy and three siblings, John Hesketh 15, Edward Hesketh Gibson 14 and Elsie Constance 11. In 1911, Adele was a singing pupil of Caroline Jelley at St James Lodge, St James Square, Notting Hill, Kensington, London and she married at Leeds in 1916, Harry Williams Hamlett (5 May 1892-24 December 1973). In 1939, 'widowed', living at 58 Kimbolton Road, Bedford the home of the Deacon family. A member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists. She died at The Old Parsonage, Raynes Lane, Kirby Cane, Norfolk, on 10 July 1990.
