COOK, Frederick Charles

1892 - 1973

Frederick Charles Cook was born at Lowestoft, Suffolk on 17 July 1892, eldest son of Frederick William Cook (10 September 1867-1953), a cabinet maker, and his wife Elizabeth Sarah née Capps (11 October 1868-1954), who married at Lowestoft in 1889 and in 1921 were living at 149 Clapham Road, Lowestoft. In 1911, young Frederick was an 18-year-old tailor & cutter, living at 23 Cambridge Road, Lowestoft with his parents, 44-year-old Frederick and 43-year-old Elizabeth, and siblings Cecil W. 16, Ernest N. 14, and Stanley 11. Frederick served in the Suffolk Regiment during the First World War and married at Lowestoft in 1915, Hilda Ruth Budds (13 April 1892-1975) and in 1939, they were living at 31 Beresford Road, Lowestoft with their children Frederick Cecil (17 July 1916-27 April 1976), a boat builder's joiner, and Ralph Kenneth (23 July 1920-26 November 1988), apprentice coach builder. Frederick exhibited at the art show held by the Lowestoft Art Group at St John's Church Hall, Lowestoft in December 1960, 'Cley Mill, Norfolk', 'Boats, Lake Lothing', 'Sailing Barge in Lake Lothing' and 'Sailing Barges off Lowestoft'. Frederick Charles Cook died at 91 Beresford Road, Lowestoft on 8 December 1973.
