LAIT, Gillian
As Gillian M. Sparkes, she was born at Ipswich in 1959, daughter of Walter James Sparkes (6 March 1920-27 December 2002) and his wife Gladys Mary née Francis (15 April 1920-24 March 2000), who married at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1944. Gillian married in the Gipping district of Suffolk in 1983, Jim Lait and paints under the name of Gill Lait. A self-taught Suffolk-based artist who works in water-based media and pastel and her favourite subjects are animals, people, flowers and still life. Gillian also employs fibre arts particularly needle and wet felting to produce beautiful wall hangings and 3-dimensional pieces. She and her husband live at 107 Melford Way, Felixstowe, Suffolk and regularly exhibits at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk.
