As Kirsty Eve Shepherd, she was born at Birmingham in 1977, daughter of Dennis V. Shepherd and his wife Carol J. née Smart, who married at Warley, Worcestershire in 1973. Kirsty married at Birmingham in 2000, James P. Collins and works under the name of Kirsty Collins. A portrait artist and mother of six, now living in Felixstowe, Suffolk. Kirsty now mainly works in charcoal and exhibited at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe in 2015-2017 and has commenced working with print, glass, and metal. Her first picture book 'Groggle the Gran' a children's book was published in 2012 and Kirsty has also hand-crafted silver jewellery.
