ARCEDECKNE, Louisa

1817 - 1898

Louisa was baptised on 2 October 1817, daughter of Andrew Arcedeckne (1780-1849) and his wife Anne Harriet née Beckford [Arcedeckne q.v.]. She married at St George’s Hanover Square, London on 6 July 1839, Charles Andrew Vanneck, later 3rd Baron Huntingfield (1818-1897) and they had ten children. Louisa was tutored in art whilst living in London by Henry Bright [q.v.] during the period of Bright's twenty year residence in London 1836-1856. In 1871 she inherited, from her childless brother Andrew Arcedeckne (1822-1871), the Glevering Hall estate in Suffolk but this was leased out until it was sold in the 1890s. Her husband died on 21 September 1897 and Louisa died on 4 February 1898. The Vanneck family owned Hevingham Hall, Huntingfield, Suffolk until its sale on the death of the unmarried Lt-Col. Joshua Charles Vanneck (1842-1915), 4th Baron Huntingfield.
