JACKSON, Herbert Parry Malpas

1868 - ?

Born at Kensington, London in 1868, son of Mason Jackson, a newspaper manager, and his wife Lucie Berriman née Tippetts, who married at Kensington in 1864. In 1871, a 2 year old living at Warwick Gardens, Kensington with his parents, 51 year old Mason and 32 year old Lucie, with siblings Lucie Gertrude 5 and Arthur Mason Tippetts 4, with three servants. In 1891, a 22 year old 'artist' living at The Common, Southwold, Suffolk with his uncle 40 year old solicitor William James Berriman Tippetts (1851-1936) and his family. After fighting in the South African Wars, he married at Kensington in 1904 Catherine Roxburgh MacFarlane, but the marriage was annulled in 1907 over his being declared insane on 8 March 1905, when he was detained in a lunatic asylum in Liverpool.
