MACE, John E. G.

John Mace was born at Brentford, Middlesex in 1937, son of Chares W. Mace and his wife Olive E. née Rice, who married at Hammersmith in 1929. A well collected artist who paints in the best traditions of the Norwich School and often portray Norfolk life in bygone times and is keenly interested in wildlife. Mace is a member of the Yarmouth and District Art Society and has had numerous exhibitions in Norfolk and Suffolk, his oil 'Walberswick Harbour' dated 1982 was auctioned in 2012 for 42. He can often be seen with his sketchbook rambling from field to field in the Norfolk countryside and he donated a work to the 'Westhall Secret Postcard Auction' in 2013 'Two's Company' from 58 Elizabeth Fry Road, Norwich where he lived for over 30 years.
