CURL, Henley Graham

1910 - 1989

Born at Newmarket Road, Norwich on 25 May 1910, son of Percy Edward Curl, department store proprietor, and his wife Janet Elsie née Smethurst, who married at Marylebone, London in 1909. In 1911, living at Newmarket Road, Norwich with his parents, 36 year old Percy and 24 year old Janet, born Bryan, Lancashire with four indoor servants. He studied art at the East Anglian School of Painting & Drawing at Benton End, Hadleigh, Suffolk but was a solicitor by profession and as a student he spent some time in Jamaica. A council member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1935-1984 from Thorpe; Swainsthorp and Wreningham, all in Norfolk. He married at Acle, Norfolk in 1949 Margaret A. Taylor. He died at Norwich in 1989.
