PRING MacSWEENEY, Dale Louisiana

Dale Pring was born at Hammersmith, London on 17 April 1949, daughter of Percy Arthur W. Pring (1908-1964) and his wife Joan C. R. E. née Basing (born 1924), who married at Willesden, Middlesex in 1945. Educated at Burlington Grammar School and the family moved from North Kensington to Richmond in Surrey when she was twelve when she was fortunate enough to find a mentor who taught her at Kingston School of Art also to be able to take weekend classes at Wimbledon School of Art in 1966, Waltham Forest College 1967-1970. Having lived her colourful early life, a magnificently creative symbiosis began when she married at Chelsea, London the eminent Irish polymath David A. MacSweeney in 1980, establishing a flourishing career working from several studios in London and showing her paintings in many major galleries and art institutions in London as well as internationally. In 1992 she moved to California and spent seven successful and stimulating years experiencing a whole new dimension of light and subject, but returned to live in East Anglia at 2 Benhall Lodge, Benhall, Saxmundham, Suffolk where she has been living and working happily ever since. The body of over three decades of work reflect these major changes in location both in colour, atmosphere and light. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; New English Art Club; Piccadilly Gallery, London; Hammer Galleries, New York; Montgomery Galleries, Santa Fe; Thompson Gallery, London and elsewhere.
