SQUAIR, Maureen
As Maureen Eleanor Griffiths, she was born at Bournemouth, Dorset in May 1939, daughter of Arthur Edward Griffiths (1915-1989) and his wife Doreen Elsie Millar, who married at Bournemouth in 1938. Maureen married at Bournemouth in 1962, Michael Frank Pattinson Squair (born February 1936) and paints under the name of Maureen Squair. Maureen studied at Sunderland College of Art in the 80s graduating B.A. in textile with a postgraduate from West Dean in woven tapestry. Her work inspires and influences her printed paper collages and geometric, abstracted paintings in gouache, acrylic and oil. A Member of the Suffolk Art Society from Fishpits Cottage, Fishpits Lane, Bures, Suffolk.
