CHUBB, Peter

? - ?

A mainly self-taught artist he has always enjoyed drawing and painting. Later when working in Sussex was able to improve his work by joining a local art society. On retirement he moved to Devon which enabled him to develop water colour skills, painting the contrasting moorland and estuarine landscapes. Now living in East Anglia, low horizons and water continue to feature often in his work. Peter is interested in the natural environment and conservation, and a volunteer with the R.S.P.B., and likes to include birds, even distant, somewhere in a landscape. Whilst visiting the botanic art gallery at Kew was impressed at the detail and clarity achievable using coloured pencil and began on a series of Suffolk coastal flowers. A Member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society he donated from Aldringham, Leiston, Suffolk in 2013 a coloured pencil drawing 'Apple Blossom with Bumble Bee'.
