PARTRIDGE, Jenny Lillian

Jennifer Lillian Partridge was born at Romford, Essex in 1947, youngest of the four children of Frank Munden Partridge (15 August 1898-29 July 1990) and his wife Dorothy née Miles (24 November 1904-23 July 1992), who married at St Peter in the Forest, Walthamstow, London on 15 September 1928. Jenny is an author of some fifteen titles, including the 'Oakapple Wood' series winning her the acclaimed international children's prize 'Critici in Urbar' at the Bologna Book Fair. Jenny has also produced work for Medici cards as well as Heinemann books. As a painter, creator of 'Kitchen Picture' series recipe paintings and flower studies, her work has been shown widely throughout Europe with her books being printed in French, Dutch, Japanese etc. and the characters reproduced by Wedgewood. She married at Havering, Essex in 1971, artist Nigel Casseldine and after travelling around the country Norfolk, Cornwall, Scotland and Wales they settled at Ebley, Stroud, Gloucestershire with her husband painting architectural scenes, Jenny stuck to her love of painting wild animals during which time they had a son Nicholas and a daughter Alice, both born at Stroud. About 2015 they moved to Suffolk and opened an art gallery. A member of Suffolk Open Studios with their gallery and workshop at Romany Studio, Woodbridge Road, Tunstall, Suffolk.
