Alexander Osborne

Alexander Luke Osborne was born at Ipswich on 14 August 1988, son of Michael Eric Osborne and his wife Jacqueline Ann née Hale, who married at Ipswich in 1985. Alexander was educated at Kesgrave High School near Ipswich and studied on a Fine Art B.A. (hons) degree course at University Campus Suffolk and in his first year was awarded the Fine Art Student of the Year Award, but in 2013 had a 'stroke' which caused him to lose the use of his right arm, but he picked up a pencil, and drew a picture when he decided to paint again. If he had never had his illness, they would have not found his tumour, which gave him the idea for his 'Gallows' sculpture. Alexander uses a multitude of skills drawn from his experience, both artistic and commercial. Primarily working in sculpture and painting; often making large scale works, he does not limit himself to any one practice or material. Alexander exhibited at Pretty's Summer Collection at Ipswich in 2013 'Snow White' best in show and has also exhibited at Futura Park Sculpture, Ipswich and has also commission work including at Salthouse House Harbour Hotel in Ipswich.
