Tom Ambridge

Tom Ambridge was an engineer and scientist which may have influenced his approach to painting, which involved incorporating fine detail, earning him a reputation at the club as 'The Bricklayer'. Having enjoyed drawing as a youngster, Tom returned to art as a retirement hobby with the Woodbridge Art Club and although his recent works are watercolours, he has also explored other media including monochrome portraits inspired by the pencil painting technique of fellow club member Rosario Zinna [q.v.]. A Suffolk artist who lives at 10 Lockwood Close, Woodbridge, Suffolk with his wife Carmel née Hayes, from where he exhibited at Woodbridge Library in 2017, several local Suffolk scenes.
