HARVEY, Shirley

As Shirley Y. Last, she was born at Ipswich in 1945, daughter of Archibald James Last (3 May 1908-12 March 1989) and his wife Edith Elizabeth née Baldry (19 October 1922-26 January 2004), who married at Deben, Suffolk in 1939. Shirley married at Ipswich in 1966, John Harvey, and paints under the name of Shirley Harvey. Having worked as a pyrographer (pokerwork) for many years she decided to study, as a mature student, for a degree in Art and Design which led to her love of watercolour painting. A watercolour artist focusing primarily on scenes of beautiful Suffolk. About 2015, Shirley made the leap from a hobby to a professional artist. She has exhibited at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk, the Waterfront Craft & Vintage Shop, Ipswich and Art at the Ferry at Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club.
