COATES, Amanda
Amanda J. Coates was born at Kings Lynn, Norfolk on 21 July 1962, daughter of Brian J. Coates and his wife Shirley A. née Hitchcock, who married at Kings Lynn in 1960. Amanda, who was born disabled, was educated at Alderman Catleugh Girls High School, Kings Lynn 1974-1978. After retiring from work at the Port of Felixstowe, art which started out as a hobby, became a large part of her life and she went on to study on a foundation course in Art & Design at New Suffolk College, Ipswich 2007–2009 and at University Campus Suffolk 2009–2013 taking a B.A. in Fine Art and is now a self-employed illustrator. She exhibits from 2 Brightwell Close, Felixstowe, Suffolk at 'Art on the Prom' at Felixstowe and has also shown at The Thrifty Thistle in Felixstowe and elsewhere.
