BEVEN, Sue

? - ?

Susan B. Beven has painted since a child, her earliest success was in 1940 when awarded The Royal Drawing Society Exhibition Prize for landscapes. Sue studied at a secretarial college and became an Account Executive for one of the largest advertising agencies in post-war London. After her marriage, she continued to sketch from time to time and later on enrolled at the School of Art and Design at Colchester Institute on a three year HE Visual Studies course. Having had no formal art training she had a lot of studying to bring her basic knowledge up to standard before she graduated. Sue has since studied with Belinda King [q.v.] who broadened her understanding of all aspects of painting and has now developed a style into semi-abstract work, putting her imagination to work. A member of the Suffolk Art Society from Boxford, Sudbury, Suffolk.
