CORBETT, Brenda

Brenda Corbett was born in the Midlands around 1946. She displayed artistic ability at school from an early age and attended various courses and workshops for tuition in oil, acrylic and watercolour. As Brenda A. Roper, she married at Bromsgrove, Worcestershire in 1976, Peter A. Corbett and paints under the name of Brenda Corbett. After living in Buckinghamshire and in Sussex, where she developed her skills with the Felpham Art Group, in 2003 they moved to Suffolk. Brenda has been a member of Fornham All Saints Art Club and since 2003 has been a member of the Bury St Edmund's Art Society, exhibiting and selling through their exhibitions and other shows in Suffolk. Painting has been her favourite pastime but since retiring has had more time to devote in developing and expanding her artistic ranges. Her work is principally acrylic on fine primed linen and reflects the inspiration found on the farm where she lived at Hargrave, Bury St Edmund's and her recent work reflects the inspiration found from the animals in the vicinity but she now lives at Haughley, Stowmarket, Suffolk. She undertakes commissions for pet portraits and horses.
