WILSON, Bayley

1887 - 1976

Bayley Wilson was born on 5 May 1887, son of John Strange Wilson (1848-1938), a farmer of Wrenham, Suffolk, and his wife Elizabeth née Makens (4 October 1848-1947), who married at Bosmere, Suffolk in 1880. In 1891, Bayley was a 3 year old living at Hingham Turnpike, Henstead, Norfolk with his father, 42 year old John and siblings Bessie 10 and Gardene 8, both born in Middlesex. By 1911 a 23 year old farmer's son now living at Colney, Norwich, Norfolk with his father John Strange Wilson and sibling Bessie 30, Kate 27, Hugh 25 and Marianne 19. Bayley married at Henstead, Norfolk in 1924, Constance Emily Mitchell (12 January 1891-1972). As B. Wilson, he exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1933 from Colney Old Hall, Norwich a watercolour 'The Walk'. In 1939, a dairy farmer, living at Hall Farm, Colney, Norwich with his wife Constance. He died in the Norwich Outer district in 1976. He was sometimes known at Bailey Wilson.
