HART, Hubert Willingham
Hubert Willingham Hart was born at Woodbridge, Suffolk on 21 January 1867 and baptised on 1 March 1867, third child and eldest son of John Brook Hart and his wife Anna Marie Smith (1839-23 December 1927) who married at Great Bealings, near Woodbridge on 29 September 1859. In 1881, Hubert was a 14-year-old, living at Thoroughfare, Woodbridge with his parents, 50-year-old John Brook and 41-year-old Anna Marie and siblings Mabel 20, Hilda 16, Francis John Brook 11 and Archibald Ernest 2, all born at Woodbridge. Hubert exhibited at the Woodbridge Fine Art Exhibition at the Lecture Hall, Woodbridge in April 1883 two oil paintings, 'Reading the Challenge' and 'Getting Impatient' and in 1887 an oil 'Psyche'. A keen member of the Suffolk Volunteer Regiment being promoted Captain, temporary major in the 1st Suffolk Volunteer Regiment in 1908. Hubert and Isabella Balche (24 December 1873-20 December 1967) of The Manse, Portesse, Scotland made a proclamation in July 1897 and in 1901, Hubert was a 34-year-old corn & coal merchant, living at Thoroughfare, Woodbridge with his 27-year-old wife Isabella, who was born at Looe, Cornwall, and an unnamed newly born daughter. In 1911 at the same address with his wife Isabellla, they had been married for 13 years, three children Hubert John Brook 10, Margaret Nancy 7 and Frances Betty 2. In 1939, a retired corn merchant living at 92 Thoroughfare, Woodbridge with his wife Isabella and daughter Frances Betty (4 January 1909-1984). Hubert Willingham Hart died at 92 Thoroughfare, Woodbridge on 11 September 1944.
