HASLEWOOD, Noel

1881 - 1925

Noel Alfred Fitzherbert Haslewood was born in Chislet Rectory, Kent on 26 December 1881, son of Revd Frederick George Haslewood (19 March 1835-30 April 1909) and his wife Louisa née Lyon (29 November 1839-2 April 1901), who married at St Mary's Church, Bryanston Square, London on 27 May 1869. Noel married firstly on 21 July 1907, Florence Odenaat Hughes (1884-18 March 1924) and in 1911, was a 29 year old architect, living at 10 Greenside Road West, Hammersmith, London with his 27-year-old wife Florence and 8-month-old son Geoffrey Arthur Dering, born 9 July 1910. Noel was in an architectural partnership with Frederick Percy Earee, as Earee & Haslewood at 36 Market Hill, Sudbury in 1922. As Noel Haselwood, was of Great Cornard, Sudbury when an exhibitor with the Stour Valley Group at Sudbury in April 1922 of two works, 'Cornard Mere' and 'Fern Hill, Glemsford' and exhibited again later that year. As Noel Hazlewood, he is noted in Kelly's 'Directory of Suffolk' 1922 of The Moat, Great Cornard, Sudbury, where his wife died in 1924, and he married again later that year, Ethel Mary Storey. Noel Alfred Fitzherbert Haslewood died at Barnet, Middlesex in 1925 and his wife remarried in 1928 Leonard Unett Walker, a Colchester brewer.
