Evelyn Alice Clutton-Brock

As Evelyn Alick Vernon-Harcourt, she was born at Limpsfield, Surrey on 30 December 1876, daughter of Leveson Francis Vernon-Harcourt (25 January 1839-14 September 1907) and his wife Alice née Brandreth (1844-28 August 1919), younger daughter of Lieut. Col. Henry Rowland Brandreth, who married at St Paul's Church, Knightsbridge, London on 2 August 1870. Evelyn married at St Mary's Oatland, Weybridge on 6 August 1903, Arthur Clutton-Brock (23 March 1868-8 January 1924), a former barrister and an author. Evelyn was one of the first pupils of the East Anglian School of Painting & Drawing then at Dedham, Essex and where she exhibited in 1937. In 1939 she was a widow living at Lock Cottage, Nayland, Suffolk with her son Alan Francis Clutton-Brock and his wife Barbara. Evelyn also exhibited at the Royal Academy. Evelyn Alice Clutton-Brock died at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on 28 July 1964.
