Barbara Bernard is an American by birth and she studied art in Belait, Wisconsin and learned silkscreen printmaking at Richmond Adult College in Richmond, Surrey. Barbara has lived in England since 1971 and in 2013 she moved from Chiswick to Ditchingham, South Norfolk, and works from a spacious studio in her garden at Ditchingham Barn, Pound Lane, Ditchingham, Bungay, Suffolk, concentrating on painting in oils. Her paintings can be seen at the Southwold Gallery, Southwold and Cork Brick Gallery, Bungay, both in Suffolk. She has exhibited at the New English Art Club at the Mall Galleries, London and at the Stables Gallery, Twickenham. A participant in 'Artists at Home' open studios in the Chiswick area and is now a member of the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail. As an avid needlewoman Barbara also offers a tapestry design service, specialising in architectural subjects such as house portraits.
