Ruth C. Day, from an early age had an enthusiasm for the visual arts, and since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1975, whenever possible she incorporated her art into her practice. Over the past years, Ruth has made more time to study art theory and its practical applications. During this period, she has attended a modular degree programme in art and design, various summer schools and many other courses and lectures. For over 20 years was living in rural Suffolk but has now returned to her hometown of Ipswich. Ruth is an accomplished and diverse printmaker as well as experimenting with various printmaking techniques over the years, Ruth also uses textiles, painting and drawing in her continuing efforts to explore the use of colour. Ruth is a member of Ipswich Art Society and a past member of Sudbourne Park Printmakers and has exhibited at Quay Gallery, Snape, Suffolk; the Frame Workshop & Gallery, Ipswich; the Aldeburgh Gallery, Aldeburgh; Artspace Gallery, Woodbridge; The Sentinel, Wivenhoe, Essex; Woodbridge Library, Woodbridge; Buckenham Galleries, Southwold and elsewhere.
