BEAUMONT, George

1836 - ?

Baptised at Mendham, Suffolk on 14 Aug 1836, son of James Beaumont (1806-1887), a farmer, and his wife Maria née Gidney (1800-1880)), who married at Mendham on 7 October 1834, and a sister of Emma Beaumont [q.v.] In 1861 a 24 year old farmer’s son living at Cranmore House Farm, Westgate Street, Long Melford, Suffolk with his parents, 55 year old James, born Flixton, Suffolk and 60 year old Maria, born Mendham. He married at Monks Eleigh, Suffolk in 1863, Jane Agnes Strutt and in 1881 a 44 year old farmer of 360 acres living at Farm House, Langley, Norfolk with his 39 year old wife Jane and 17 year old daughter Nellie [q.v.] He exhibited from 34 Marine Parade, Lowestoft when showing at Ipswich Fine Art Club 1884, five watercolours including 'Wild Flowers Disturbed', 'Retriever and Pheasant', 'Spaniel and Teal', 'Retriever and Mallard', 'Retriever and Heron' and two monochromes 'Langley Church and Grange' and 'Gipsy Encampment' and in 1885 one painting 'Fritton Lake, Looking East'. After which George and his family disappear.
