ROUNTREE TRYON GALLERIES
The original Tryon Gallery was founded in 1959 by The Hon. Aylmer Tryon in Dover Street, London and the Royal Exchange Art Gallery, specialising in the best of sporting pictures, wildlife art and marine paintings. In 1972 it merges with The Moorland Gallery and in 1981 they move to Cork Street followed by a merger in 1995 with Oliver Swann Galleries to become Tryon and Swann Gallery, and in 2000 it incorporates with Malcolm Innes Gallery, moves to 7 Bury Street, St James’s as Tryon Galleries making it a centre for a variety of quality pictures. The Gallery typically holds about six exhibitions a year featuring either gallery artists of group exhibitions of living and or deceased artists. Now known as Rountree Tryon Galleries which were formed in 2013 by a merger between the Tryon Gallery and Rountree Fine Art. In 2018 the London presence moves to an office and shared gallery space at 19 Ryder Street, St James. The gallery is currently owned and run by Jamie Rountree who founded Rountree Fine Art in 2009 after a ten-year career at the auction houses Christie’s and Bonhams. With their common interests and shared vision, the collaboration between these two galleries has cemented the position of Rountree Tryon Galleries as market leaders. Rountree Tryon has two gallery spaces, one in the heart of the historical district of St James's in London, and the second in the market square of the picturesque town of Petworth, West Sussex.
