BYARD ART
Byard Art first opened in Nottingham’s Byard Lane, on the top floor of a Victorian Lace Factory in 1993. A commercial gallery, specialising in contemporary visual and applied arts. In September of 1998, Byard Art moved into a gallery space in central Cambridge on St Mary’s Passage which provided a permanent showcase for gallery artists’ original artwork, and which allowed the business to expand into the corporate and public sectors. During the summer of 2009 Byard Art moved to larger premises on King’s Parade, directly opposite King’s College and the gallery now encompasses 1,200 square feet of exhibition space over two floors and can host not only a rolling exhibition programme but also a permanent collection of gallery artists. During this time Byard developed an international reputation, supporting a regular exhibition programme as well as participating in major art fairs, including Art London (Chelsea), London Art Fair, (Islington) and the Affordable Art Fair Spring & Autumn. Byard has also exhibited in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Newcastle and Bristol as well as regularly showing at the Affordable Art Fair in New York, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan and Hong Kong.
