JAY, David Norman
David Norman Jay was born at Ipswich on 2 February 1952, son of Norman I. Jay and his wife Jean Gwendoline née Whyard (1929-2016), who married at Ipswich in 1951. David was educated at Northgate Grammar School, Ipswich and married at Ipswich in 1974, Linda M. Cleave. A member of Ipswich Art Club from 1973 and exhibited regularly, receiving the Anna Airy award in 1972 and in 1974 and was runner-up in 1973. In the Art Club centenary year in 1974 he exhibited a pen drawing 'In the Interests of the Nation'. He seems to have given up his membership of the Art Club in 1983 but was still living near Ipswich in 2014.
