PAUL, Maude
As Maude Harris, she was born at 24 Cavendish Square, Marylebone, London in 1865, daughter of Dr Francis Harris, M.D. (1 December 1829-3 September 1885) and his wife Marianna née Harris (4 August 1840-17 January 1924), who married at Lewisham, London in 1861. Maude married in 1894, Edward Clifford Paul (25 November 1862-20 June 1945) who, in 1901, was a preparatory school headmaster, living at Orwell House, Lower Street, Walton-cum-Felixstowe, Suffolk. Maude was a painter in watercolour of flowers and landscapes and as Mrs Edward C. Paul, a member of Ipswich Art Club 1906-1907 and exhibited in 1905 'A Corner of my Garden' and the following year 'Peonies'. By 1911 Edward and Maude were living on 'private means' at East Brook House, Upway, Dorset and were still living there in 1921. Maude Paul died at 'Rotherwood', Elm Grove, Salisbury, Wiltshire on 25 September 1938, aged 73.
