Peter Baldwin

Herbert Peter Baldwin was born at Aldeburgh, Suffolk on 23 February 1941, son of Ronald William Baldwin (1920-17 October 2003) and his wife Kathleen N. née Abbs (23 May 1920-), who married at Ipswich in 1940. Peter, as he was known, studied at Norwich School of Art 1958-1962, under Michael Andrews (1928-1995) and Jeffery Camp. Peter was an art teacher at Norwich School of Art 1965-1972 and in Norfolk County Council Adult Education Centres until 1991 when elected to the Norfolk County Council and became lecturer in art history for the University of East Anglia extra-mural board and the Workers' Education Association. He married at Norwich in 1965, Janice M. Budd. A member and exhibitor at the Norwich Twenty Group from 1962 and a member or the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle. A painter in oil, he exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition also showing at the Norwich Castle Museums and Art Galleries; University of East Anglia; Halesworth Gallery; Swan House Gallery, Beccles; Affordable Art Fair, London; North Norfolk Exhibition Project, Salthouse; Norfolk Contemporary Art Society, The Forum Norwich; the Sainsbury's Centre University of East Anglia and Gallery 18/21, Tombland, Norwich. He has also been involved with mixed exhibitions in Canada, USA, London, and Rouen. He lived at 21 Alexandra Road, Sheringham, Norfolk.
