BLANDY, John

John Robert Blandy was born at Newmarket, Suffolk in October 1951, son of Robert Vernon Blandy (1924-6 February 2019) and his wife Elizabeth Marian née Hyde-Smith (26 August 1921-19 October 1982), who married at Newmarket in 1949. John was educated at Charterhouse and attended Norwich School of Art 1970 and gained his diploma at St Martins School of Art in 1973 and his master's degree from the Royal College of Art in 1976. John Blandy has travelled widely and has shown regularly in group and solo exhibitions, particularly at the London galleries, Francis Kyle Gallery from 1985 and Cassian de Vere Cole Fine Art from 2001. One of the founding members of Brent Artists Resource being elected chair in 2003.
