MORGAN, Richard B

Born in Hobday Street, Poplar, London in 1942, son of Robert Edmund B. Morgan (8 March 1908-1983), an electrical stores superintendent, and his wife Doris Madelime née Smith (7 November 1907-1979) and in 1939 were living at 96 Jubilee Drive, Ruislip, Middlesex. After an abortive attempt to train as an engineering draughtsman, and then working as an advertising artist during the late fifties and early sixties, in 1966 he moved from London to Suffolk, where from 1970, he has concentrated fully on producing his artwork. Painting of English mystical romances drawing inspiration from the local landscape and a successful freelance children's book illustrator and author. However fine art has always been his passion and in 2009 was invited to exhibit at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Show. A member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle in 1971 from Henham, Suffolk and also has had solo exhibitions at Read's Gallery, Aldeburgh; Deben Gallery, Woodbridge; Magdalene Street Gallery, Cambridge; The Maddermarket, Norwich; Pottergate Gallery, Norwich and Buxton Mill Gallery, Norfolk. He is also a teacher of life drawings and takes private commissions.
