COOKE, Miss Daphne Violet

1903 - 1994

Born at Stanton, Suffolk on 5 December 1903, daughter of James and Isabell Cooke, who in 1911 were living at Bury Lane, Stanton, Bury St Edmund's with their children, Daphne 7, Ernest 6 and Ivy 3. A member of the Ipswich Art Club 1932-1936 exhibiting from The Cottage, Great Livermere, Suffolk in 1932 two pictures 'Changing Pastures' and a watercolour 'Cows in a Meadow', in 1933 three pictures 'Group of Cows', 'A Stackyard' and 'Livermere Park, in 1935 two pictures 'Mare and Foal' and 'Wintering Out' she was also a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1933-1935 from The Cottage, Great Livermere. Daphne married at Bury St Edmund's in 1935, Thomas William Henry Lord (15 April 1906-1964) and in 1939 living at Breach Cottage, Botesdale, Suffolk with her husband. She died in the Bury St Edmund's district in 1994.
