WALLER, Nora Mary

1905 - 1973

As Nora Mary Morfey, she was born at Ipswich on 8 December 1905, daughter of George Alexander Morfey (2 August 1872-1954), commercial traveller for W & A J Turner, leather merchants, and his wife Katherine Ma[r]y née Mortimer (9 February 1865-1953), who married at Ipswich in 1902. In 1911, a 5 year old living at 54 Foxhall Road, Ipswich with her parents, 40 year old George and 46 year old Katherine and his six year old brother Wallace Mortimer Morfey [q.v.] and in 1939 they were living at 48 Anglesea Road, Ipswich. She married at Ipswich in 1935, Revd Trevor Waller (1904-1995), son of Arthur Pretyman Waller [q.v.] and as Mrs. N. M. Waller a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1962-1973 and exhibited from Waldringfield Rectory, near Woodbridge in 1961, an oil 'Waldringfield Beach', in 1962 a watercolour 'February Morning, Waldringfield', in 1963 'Felixstowe Ferry' and 'Frosty Morning, Mill Road, Waldringfield', in 1964 'Waldringfield Beach' a watercolour, and 'Deben Saltings in Spring' in 1965 an oil 'Belstead Brook' and a watercolour 'Early Spring, River Deben' and annually until 1972 when she had on show an oil 'The Greenhouse Shelf'. She died at Ipswich in 1973.
