STANLEY, Charles Horace

1822 - 1890

Born in London on 13 April and baptised at St George's Hanover Square on 3 December 1822, son of Caleb Robert Stanley [q.v.] and his wife Ann née Miles, who married at Marylebone, London on 10 January 1817. He exhibited, as did his father and brother Archer, at the Suffolk Fine Arts Association [q.v.] at Ipswich in 1850 'Temptation'. In 1881, a 58 year old widowed portrait painter, living at 3 Milton Place, Milton-next-Gravesend, Kent with his 21 year old son, Charles G. Stanley, also a portrait painter. He died at Milton Place, Gravesend, Kent and buried in the local cemetery on 18 July 1890.
