Fran Hicks is a state registered nurse and a former Modern Matron of the Felixstowe Community Hospital, and began drawing as part of her hobby of pyrography-wood burning. Fran decided that she ‘needed a little more colour’ in her life and, changing to graphite and coloured pencil work, she began a meticulous studies of animals but has also depicted landmarks such as the former gaol site opposite Cage Lane in Walton. A member of the Felixstowe Art Group and a past winner in competitions.
