WHITE, Felix

1912 - 1997

As Francis Eric White, he was born at the Britannia Hotel, Barking, Essex on 12 February 1912, son of Sidney White, a licenced victualler, and his wife Rosabelle née Moore, who married in the Plomesgate district of Suffolk in 1901. An English and French teacher at Culford School, Bury St Edmund's, he married in Surrey in 1937 Dorothy Frances Ancell (23 April 1911-2006) and in 1939 they were living at 107 Westley Road, Bury St Edmund's, they had two daughters, Jill born in 1938 and Sally born in 1944. At Culford, French master Alan Edgar Stokes, together with pupils, produced the school plays and with Bruce Neville, operated the school printing press under the title 'Fewsuch Press'. A glass engraver and as Felix White a member of the Bury St Edmund's Art Society. Francis Eric White died in 1997.
